You may be able to claim some form of financial assistance towards funeral costs.
Pensioners receive some government benefits for help towards funeral expenses. If the deceased was an ex-serviceperson the surviving partner may be entitled to claim for a funeral benefit from the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Some unions, lodges, medical benefit funds, etc. also offer members a funeral benefit.
Because these organisations have different requirements, we are not qualified to advise on rebates and allowances.
