with a range of services and options available.
If you prefer to obtain information on services, options and prices before engaging a funeral director, our staff are ready to provide you with obligation-free guidance and advice.
There are generally four main costs associated with a funeral:
1PROFESSIONAL SERVICE FEE
This incorporates all the tasks and services involved in arranging, planning and conducting a funeral, including performing cremations or arranging a burial. At Gregson & Weight have our own chapels, tea rooms, crematoriums and hearses, so we can provide everything required.
2Cemetery Or Cremation Charges
Burial fees are set by the individual cemeteries and councils and do not vary between funeral companies. Gregson & Weight operate our own cremation facilities, we do not use third party operators.
3Coffin Or Casket
Gregson & Weight supply a wide range of 100% Australian made coffins, from traditional timber veneer to eco friendly wicker and personalised contemporary vinyl wrapped coffins. Choose from the selection on display at each branch or design your own from the Expressions range.
The price of a coffin or casket depends on the type, quality, finish and style chosen. Coffins generally have a tapered shape and removable lid, while caskets are rectangular with a hinged lid.
4Other Fees
Other optional services can be arranged for you, such as
- Placing newspaper notices
- Orders of service booklets and memorial stationery
- Floral tributes and catering
- Clergy or Celebrants fee
- Cremation urns & jewellery
The information in our Funeral Cost Chart is a guide to some of the most common service combinations chosen by families, based on cremations. (Burials incur an additional fee for the grave)
Let’s Talk about Payment
A 50% deposit is due by the date of the service, with the balance due within 14 days. You can pay your invoice by cash, cheque, direct deposit or credit card (We don’t charge any additional fees for this).
