VALE, Major Ian William McQuire AM (Retd) BSc Grad Dip Infosys qtc
Late of Little Mountain, Caloundra QLD.
Formerly of Kaleen, Canberra ACT
Ian decided to leave on his terms at a time and place of his choosing. His wife, son and daughter, grandchildren and their spouses and great-grandchildren were with him to provide support, respect and much love.
Aged 88 years.
Husband of Ursula. Former Husband of Pamela. Father of Robert and Denise. Father-in-law of Patrick Byrne and Ann-Marie McQuire. Grandfather of Siobhán, Shannon and Callum. Great-Grandfather of Cillian and Cameron.
Ian's two greatest loves in life were his family and his service in the Australian Armed Forces. The family deeply mourns his departure after an extended illness with cancer.
Ian's funeral will be held in the Chapel at Gregson and Weight, 5 Gregson Place, Caloundra QLD on Wednesday, 17th of December at 11:00am.
Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend a celebration of his life framed within a "Poppy Ceremony" military funeral. Dress attire can be bright. However, we respect and understand that some, including ex-serving members, may feel more comfortable in a suit or equivalent - berets and medals are welcome.
